Two fantastic opportunities have come up: ‘Winter Memories‘ will be premiered by one of the Valparaiso University performing ensembles during the Valparaiso University Julefest Concert. The performance will be in the university chapel on Sunday, December 8, 1:00p CST. Jeffrey J. Jones has commissioned a new work for wind band to be performed with […] A local church has asked for a piece to be performed during their Easter services. The piece will be for brass choir and organ and they have requested that it be based on a standard hymn of the season. I found out today that ‘Battle Angelis‘ is officially on the North Carolina Bandmasters Association list for acceptable pieces for festival for 2009-2010. They’ve declared it a grade 5 difficulty. I hope the groups that have selected this work enjoy performing the piece. Today while looking at a music catalog I was a little surprised to see a note next to ‘Battle Angelis‘ in their listings. Upon further investigation, this means that ‘Battle Angelis’ is an approved piece for grade 4 festival competition in the state of Virginia. |
