DETAILS:

‘Life Cycle’ was composed in collaboration with the dance department at Michigan State University for a dance concert in February 2003. The intent was to create a fairly atmospheric and rhythmic piece. The melody of ‘Life Cycle’ is very reserved in that it uses six pitches and develops very little over the span of the piece. The rhythm of the melody is constantly mimicked over all of the instruments where it is expanded and contracted.
